Everywhere in your house:
- Go through each room of your home to define what seems to be wrong and rectify the situation – put in order any misplaced things, and notice what you would like to clean or change, make a brief to-do list on this;
- Launder curtains and drapes protecting your windows;
- Move heavy furniture (such as book cases) in your house, where possible, to get enough space for easy vacuuming or wiping off the dust under them. Also wipe off the dust in the places with a lot of tangled wires;
- Clean light fixtures and shades in all rooms from dust and bug remains;
- Clean the walls from any occasional spots, dust and splatters (especially in areas such as kitchen where food preparation process produces a lot of splashes sticking to the walls);
- Take care of windows and all other glass or mirror surfaces. Use special glass cleaner to remove streaks, finger-tips and other spots. Clean windows inside and outside;
- Wax and buff wooden floors, decorative woodworks, stone surfaces, and also masonry (where appropriate);
- Vacuum baseboards in every room. Wipe interior and exterior doors;
- Check and recharge smoke alarm detectors;
- Clean doorknobs and electric switches;
Living Space:
- Change the casings of pillows;
- Renew the bed/sofa/armchairs curtains. Vacuum your sofa and armchairs;
- Wash the pillows and air them in the sun to get rid of any musty smell;
- Launder and change the rest of your bed-clothes, including duvet covers and bed-sheet;
- Wash your mattresses at least once per every six month;
- Use detergents to wash thoroughly your carpets and upholstery from any possible stains;
- Clean the coffee table, organize items on it, and wipe off furniture’s tops;
- Clean the cupboards, including unused decorative dishes and utensils. Take knick-knacks from your shelves and thoroughly clean them off;
- Dust the frames of pictures and photos standing on your shelves or hanging on walls;
- Clean electric appliances used in living space such as television, audio systems and computers;
- Organize your TV and radio channels if something new was added, and sort out content of your computer to increase its performance;
Subsidiary Space:
- Dust ceiling fans and air vents to keep them functioning well;
- Sort out food, household, medical and beauty supply, remove everything expired or outdated;
- Free your furniture and shelves from any rubbish and dust off inside the furniture and cabinets;
- Give a serious cleaning to your appliances: your refrigerator, stove, coffee machine, microwave ovens, etc – all these our daily routine “little helpers” deserve to be thoroughly rinsed from any dirt, spots, drips, ...
