  TESTIMONIALS
"...This is an excellent program. I'm so glad that I stumbled on to this when researching for task management programs. Very low learning curv, quite flexible, and the price is right. Tried at least 20 other programs, either too complicated, too expensive, or poor documentation..."

  1. Preparing a plan
  • Develop a schedule and keep to it. Set key tasks and deadlines.
  • Define your field of interest. Consider your education, skills, knowledge and interests to define what places of employment you can pretend to.
  • Gather necessary information. Think of work environments, remuneration, and positions in particular companies that can potentially be your next place of work.
  • Think of potential career paths in particular companies. Considering your education and skills, you can develop effective strategies and try to imagine what career opportunities you can take in particular companies. Consider a job offer as a total package of salary and benefits.
  • Read the recruiting literature and other resources to get ideas and background information on a variety of companies-employers.
  • Work with a career counselor to find out how to target particular companies of your interest. Contact associations for employment information and solutions and communicate with professionals in your field.
  • Geographic aspect of process. It is important to find a job place that is located nearby your home; otherwise, you risk to waste much time while reaching your job through traffic jams. In your action plan you should include names of companies that meet your geographic preferences.
  • You can follow Aggressive and Passive strategies. The first strategy assumes going through steps by actively looking for employers and vacant job places. The second strategy assumes publishing your resume on online resources and then waiting for job offers. The best way to successfully accomplish your project is to use both strategies simultaneously.
  • Create a plan. All your preparation activities can be structured and organized by creating a plan. Such a plan will include a list of your own interests and skills, information on organizations – potential employers, and some pieces of advice that will help you go through the process of job hunting successfully.
  • Be persistent because rejections will occur. You need to treat rejections as learning experiences.
  • Evaluate job hunting progress regularly.
  1. Making necessary documents for job searching
  • Create your resume and keep it always up-to-date. You can use online websites to develop and publish a comprehensive resume, establish contacts with potential employers, and highlight your newest skills and experiences. Online websites will also help you get your resume critiqued, so you will have an opportunity to improve it and make it more engaging.
  • Write a cover letter and attach it to your resume when sending the resume to an employer. Multiple tips and suggestions point at the importance of sending cover letters. You should realize that some employers do not even look at resumes without a cover letter attached.
  • Make a portfolio to illustrate your best abilities and skills. Such a portfolio will help you find jobs of interest, and an employer will be aware of your competencies in advance.
  1. Considering potential contacts
  • Your relatives and friends.
  • If you are a student, you can find advice at your faculty as well as by talking with alumni who are involved in specific career fields.
  • Your former employers and colleagues.
  • Professionals and consultants you know.
  • Employment agencies and firms.
  • Customers with whom you have worked at your previous workplace(s).
  • Contacts found in social networks, directories, professional magazines, newsletters and journals.
  • Use a worksheet where you will write down contacts which can potentially help you find the best place of job.
  1. Preparing for job interviews
  • Ask your friends or relatives to help you practice your interview skills to be sure you are ready for interviewing with employers.
  • Attend free interviewing workshops. You can also work with your counselor to participate in mock interviews.
  • Research the positions to which you pretend in particular companies.
  • Be ready to answer behavioral interview questions to demonstrate specific skills.
  • Learn to ask thoughtful, meaningful and demanding questions.
