1. Some Facts.
   • The word "Easter" comes from "Eostre", name of an ancient Anglo-Saxon goddess. In the ancient world pagans honored this goddess by organizing an annual spring festival.
   • There is no exact date for celebrating the holiday. Easter dates always fall between March 22 and April 25.
   • The egg is the key symbol of the holiday. From ancient times the egg has symbolized rebirth.

2. Necessary Preparations for Traditional Dinner.
   • Plan menu ahead of time. You need to think of what food will be served and what ingredients will be required for cooking. 3. Traditional Dinner Menu Items.
   • Although in various countries Easter dinner menus can vary, there are traditional main dishes that consist of ham, lamb meat, eggs, some vegetables and candy. Let’s view each of the menu items.
   • Ham. When you choose a ham for baking, make sure it is properly packed, fresh, plump and pink. You can purchase a ham 1 week before cooking and place it in your refrigerator.
   • Lamb meat. A piece of fresh lamb meat should have a thin layer of white fat with pink meat. You can purchase it in the nearest supermarket. Lamb meat can be stored in a refrigerator for no more than 5 days in proper packing. In traditional recipes, roast lamb is one of the favorite meals that should be cooked thoroughly and served hot with a lemon sauce.
   • Eggs. Boiled eggs are a favorite dinner menu item. You can purchase special ornamental patterns and designs in your supermarket and paint Easter eggs with various colors. Kids like eating colored eggs.
   • Vegetables. Boiled or mashed potato, fresh asparagus and cooked carrots are the most favorite vegetables in traditional holiday menu. Go to the nearest supermarket to shop for these menu items.
   • Candy and dessert. Kids will be glad to get candy. Adults will enjoy eating dessert. You can consider cooking some different cakes (e.g. carrot cake, angel food cake) and also purchase ice cream and sugar cookies. Ask your kids to help you in the kitchen – they will enjoy decorating cookies and cakes.
4. Plan for Party.
   • Easter-themed decorations. You must decorate your home with traditional symbols of the holiday. For example, bowls filled with colored eggs, baskets with mini-chocolate eggs for your guests, stuffed bunnies to create a fun atmosphere, fresh-cut flowers (tulips, daffodils and daisies) placed in colored vases...
